For this reimagining of the classic 12 Angry Men, Aiman Hassani worked with an all-Arab cast and a lot of new talent. With this film, he aimed to make a powerful statement about representation and the visibility of Arab perspectives in Dutch film. By refilling a familiar narrative structure with other bodies, voices, and stories, he challenges the audience to critically question their cultural frame of reference, while at the same time creating new space for voices that are rarely heard.
